I spent twelve years working as a cancer research scientist in Boston, building a career in the pharmaceutical industry and helping advance cancer treatments. During that time, my faith was always important to me, but it became even more meaningful during one of the hardest seasons of my life.
My first husband, Aldo, was diagnosed with cancer and faced a long and difficult battle. Hoping for a miracle, we moved to North Carolina for specialized cancer treatment and to be closer to his family. I paused my career to care for him, but as medical bills grew and his condition worsened, I eventually had to return to Massachusetts during the week for work.

Every Friday, I drove overnight to North Carolina to spend time with Aldo before returning to work on Monday. Eventually, he entered hospice care, and one day I received a call that he likely would not survive the night. I booked the earliest flight possible for the next morning.
That evening, Aldo called me to say goodbye. We shared a beautiful final conversation before he peacefully passed later that night.

When I arrived the next day, I told his mother how grateful I was that he had called me. She looked shocked and explained that he had been so heavily medicated he could barely function. After insisting he had called me, he reached his hand toward someone beside him and quietly said, “Okay, I called her,” before peacefully passing away.
Through Aldo’s journey, his family and I all found our way back to church. Even in suffering, his faith inspired all of us to renew our own.
After Aldo’s passing, I eventually met my husband, Jim. Shortly after we married and bought our home together, my own health suddenly changed. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and began experiencing overwhelming fatigue and borderline narcolepsy. I would fall asleep in meetings, in the lab, and even while driving.
The symptoms became so severe that I was forced to leave my career and go on disability. Within months, I was homebound, unable to drive, struggling with medication side effects, and battling deep depression.

Jim became my rock through all of it. He worked two jobs to support us and never complained. Seeing how isolated I had become, he surprised me with three mastiff puppies to help give me purpose and motivation again. His support changed everything.
With Jim’s encouragement and my faith guiding me, I became determined to take control of my health. Using my background in biology, I researched nutrition and foundational medicine, changed my diet, reduced inflammation, and gradually weaned myself off medications. After five years of discipline and persistence, I stopped the progression of my MS, regained my independence, and was able to drive again.
That experience gave me a deep sense of gratitude and purpose. I wanted to help support Jim the way he had supported me, and that eventually led me into real estate. We sold our home, purchased a home in Maine outright, and Jim was finally able to retire.

Today, my experiences with loss, illness, recovery, and rebuilding allow me to deeply empathize with people navigating major life transitions. I understand how overwhelming change can feel, and I am committed to guiding my clients with honesty, compassion, patience, and care. I view every transaction as an opportunity to truly help someone during an important moment in their life.
Today, Jim and I are building our dream of a small, off-grid, self-sustaining farm in Maine and caring for our four dogs. I’m active in my church, leading financial counseling ministries and supporting local animal rescue efforts, with two rescues of our own as well as two mastiffs.
We fell in love with Maine because here you can find everything from off-grid and sustainable homes, mountain retreats, and rustic cabins to coastal properties, farmsteads, and welcoming small-town communities.
